Gunnar Magnus's solo exhibition SERIAL THRILLER

Gunnar Magnus's SERIAL THRILLER, a solo exhibition of new oil works and graphite drawings. Magnus's images often capture the moment just before or after an impact, when the body seems to register something the mind has yet to process. He is interested in what happens at these breaking points, and in how something fleeting or difficult to articulate might be made visible. In his recent work, horses and riders appear in familiar, almost classical arrangements, though there is little sense of certainty or control. The body is exposed, sometimes down to muscle and bone, while the figures seem caught between freedom and restraint. Beneath these scenes runs a quieter current of mortality, addiction, and longing.
