The Good Good Collective's Akna y las Piedras Mágicas

Akna y las Piedras Mágicas is a musical adventure inspired by Maya cosmology, where deities and ancestral wisdom are very much alive. Set in ancient Mexico in the Maya city of Zama, the story follows Akna, a young girl chosen by Kukulkan to restore balance after a devastating drought threatens her community. Originally developed and performed with young student actors in Tulum, Mexico, the musical emerged from a desire to preserve and amplify indigenous stories. This production marks the musical’s first primarily English-language staging, while continuing to feature songs in Spanish and Yucatec Maya. This is part of the FREE August programming and is good for all ages.
